  • Ways to practice self-care and bring decadence into your daily life, even when busy and broke.
  • What watching my younger brother die of cancer taught me about living an audaciously authentic life.
  • Queer politics, including growing up queer in a conservative town, bridging the gap between conservative about radical queer politics, and/or the perils and perks of dating trans* folks.
  • Using open-relationship and polyamorous skills to decrease competition and jealousy in the workplace while increasing harmony and ease in your workday.

Girl's Night Out – February 27, 2016, San Diego, CA

Leading the workshop "Using Role Playing to Feel More Comfortable and Confident in Your Body"

Ever wonder what it would feel like to be a Victoria Secret model, seemingly carefree in your lingerie-clad self? Or maybe you think you'd be a better lover if you were someone else, say David Beckham, Beyoncé, Bill Gates, Jennifer Lawrence, that cute barista at the coffee shop, the teller at the bank, the librarian behind the stacks. This workshop shows you how to use role-playing to get out of your own head and into the mind-frame of some other person, someone who comes without your issues, limitations, and perceived flaws. I walk you through how to envision, prep for, and set-up a role-playing scenario, give tips for improvising during the scene, and help you do the important aftercare of analyzing what the experience taught you about your body and your relationship with it.

BinderCon – March 20, 2016, University of California Los Angeles

Leading the workshop "Making writing your business: the simple mental shifts that will change your financial world."

Why is it so difficult to make a living as a writer? In essence, every writer is an entrepreneur, someone putting their product out into the marketplace, hoping it will sell enough to continue funding making more product. So why then do we value writing less than other products put out in the marketplace? How can we change the paradigm of the starving artist to one where writers thrive financially?

In this informative and interactive talk, I discuss the ways in which the simple title shift from “writer” to “entrepreneur” made all the difference in financial freedom, abundance, and ease in my writing life, and walk attendees through how to make that same shift in their lives. We examine what we can learn from successful creative entrepreneurs, and attendees leave with the tips, tricks, and tools they need to monetize their writing businesses without giving up any of their creative energy or losing their passionate soul.

2845 Rue de Fluerus – February 26, 2016, Mission Beach, CA

Hosting a gathering for writers

The goal of this gathering is simple: to create comeraderie and communion between writers and people in the literary community. Think 27 Rue de Fleurus, but with Mexican food and margaritas instead of espresso and croissants (although I'm not against there also being espresso and croissants). Anyone who is a professional writer or in the literary profession is welcome. RSVP by Thursday Feb. 25, 2016 to info@Laurenmariefleming.com.

Bawdy Love Retreat – February, 2016

“Honestly, this was everything I could have hoped for and more. I loved the writing exercises and learning language precision. I loved the group discussions and group outings. I only wish it could have lasted longer!” – Jenny

Bawdy Love Retreat – August, 2015

“The workshops helped guide me through my own personal journey towards fulfillment and abundance. I learned that it is so much easier for me to focus on and identify with the negative than the positive and that opened my eyes to how my own perception colors me everyday experiences.” – Anonymous
